Sneads Ferry, North Carolina is an area steeped in a rich and fascinating history. From humble beginnings as a small fishing village situated along the north shore of the New River to the bustling town it is today, Sneads Ferry has seen both exciting and turbulent times throughout its long history. It was founded in 1727 by wealthy trader Jacob Snead, and since then it has been home to shipwrights, fishermen, merchants, farmers, militiamen who fought during the American Revolution, soldiers who served during World War II, developers that helped shaped the community it is today, and so many more. There is no doubt that these many generations of people have worked hard together to make Sneads Ferry an amazing place that everyone can appreciate now.
